META developed a comprehensive warehouse concept for LAYER Großhandel in Tettnang, catering for a diverse range of products from the trades, industry and agriculture sectors. The focus was on clear storage layout, safe processes and the efficient use of the available space.

At the heart of the solution is a two-storey steel-framed platform with a total area of 1,832 m². The steel structure comprises two stairwells, openings for the conveyor system, a paternoster racking system and two pallet transfer stations. Each storey is 3,700 mm high, with spans of up to 7,500 mm. The platform is designed to withstand a load of 500 kg/m² plus an additional 450 kg per shelf and meets the requirements for earthquake zone 2 and subsoil class S. The system is supplemented by META MULTIPAL pallet racking with 1,176 storage locations, META CLIP shelving racks and META MULTILINE drive-in racks.

The combination of the various systems enables structured storage and streamlined processes in day-to-day wholesale operations. Pallets, small parts and goods with regular turnover can be accommodated appropriately within the respective racking systems. The two-storey steel platform makes optimum use of the existing ceiling height and creates additional storage space, whilst the stairwells, conveyor openings and pallet transfer stations support a continuous flow of goods. The result is a high-performance and versatile storage solution that accommodates a variety of goods cost-effectively and supports efficient processes at LAYER.
