All information on the demolition and reconstruction of our Werk 2 on Westring

Main location Arnsberg

Highly modern logistics center

Due to limited storage options in the existing building structure, we decided to demolish Werk 2 at our main site in Arnsberg and rebuild it as a state-of-the-art logistics center. This will create the basis for optimized logistics processes, a more efficient movement of goods and a reduction in consumption. Innovative product solutions from the entire Joachim Loh Group will be used here.

Signing of the building application for demolition & reconstruction

The architect Mr. Harder, Mr. Loh and Mr. Löhr signed the building application for the demolition and reconstruction of Plant 2, marking an important milestone and the start of the next phase of our construction project. In the coming months, the old plant will be demolished before reconstruction begins in stages in 2026.

Commissioning of Plant 2 on the Westring to strengthen logistics

By taking over this additional location (former Selecta plant) near our headquarters, we were able to expand our logistics capacities and increase efficiency in order to respond even more specifically to the needs of our customers.

The demolition of Plant 2 marks the end of a chapter that served as additional storage space for META for many years. Since the takeover of the former Selecta plant in 2017, the building has been used intensively - despite structural restrictions and outdated infrastructure. The decision to completely demolish and rebuild the building now marks a logical step towards sustainability.

The conversion starts

The relocation of stock to the temporary warehouse on Grabenstrasse/Hüttenstrasse is already underway. At the same time, dismantling will begin in mid-September - including the vacant administration building on Lucienstraße in Bruchhausen. The new construction should be completed by late summer of 2026. The aim is to put a modern, sustainable and efficient logistics center into operation at the beginning of 2027, which will set new standards in terms of efficiency, energy savings and quality of work.
